My Biggest Problem is "ME"

You say, "My biggest problem is...my spouse / my finances / my employer / my health / the devil

/ God [He won't bless me or help me etc.]" the economy / taxes / telling the truth / etc.

If I passed the microphone out to each of you perhaps each of you would fill in the blank differently. Maybe you could catigorize each of your problems into four catigories

1.) family  2.) finances  3.) fisical well being  4.) future (eternity)

What if I told you I could sumerize all your problems in one simple word. What if I could identify your biggest problem with one meager word with one simple syllable.

My Biggest Problem is "ME"

I will speak in the first person. I'd like to say your biggest problem is YOU, [but I'm much too kind]

1.) We have ourselves on our mind way too much! (We are self concious)

I am offended because of what they said too ME. The way they treated ME, I'll never speak to them again.

I just don't feel like anyone likes ME at this church. People don't like to hear ME sing.                        IN FACT THE REASON SO MANY OF YOU ARE SO MISERABLE AND DISCONTENT BECAUSE ALL YOU CAN THINK ABOUT IS ME! [YOURSELF]

a.) Anytime we feel led to do something for God, our first thought is what will people think about me if I do that. (teach a class, do senior ministry etc.) I am more concerned about what God will think about me if I don't!

b.) Being shy and timid is self consious. I can tell you from experience because the reason you don't walk up to a person and say hello is because you think "I'm not dressed well enough" , "my hair isn't fixed right", "what if I have bad breath"

2.) We let the way others make us feel determine how we feel about ourselves.

a.) I'm not popular so I must not be pretty.

b.) If you only focus on yourselves and the way people make you feel and what they say or don't say to or about you then my friend you will be the most miserable person in the world.

WE NEED TO BE GOD CONSCIENCE!

a.) Jesus never woke up and said I wonder how I can get people to make me feel good. I wonder how I can get those disciples to serve me and take care of my needs.

b.) No He was in the business of pleasing & serving God. He was "GOD CONSCIENCE"

WE NEED TO BE PEOPLE CONSCIENCE

a.) Unhappy people try to get others to make them feel good.

b.) Happy people try to get others to feel good about themselves.

c.) Unhappy people try to get others to serve them.

d.) Happy people are serving others!
